In Oswestry, we have a dedicated team consisting of two Consultants in Orthopaedics and Sports Injury Surgery (myself and Mr Dai Rees), both holding clinical excellence awards, and two full time senior physiotherapists (Andrea Bailey andrea@sportsinjurysurgery.com & Jane Hughes) and one very experienced Nurse Practitioner (Sister Gaynor Kanes gaynor@sportsinjurysurgery.com). We have strong links with Keele and Bangor Universities

Mr Dai Rees
Dai has specialised in sports surgery for over a decade. His particular interests are in arthroscopic knee surgery especially ligament and meniscal problems, sports spine (spondylolysis) and cartilage cell regeneration.

Andrea graduated from Leeds University in 1992. Since then she has worked with a number of professional and semi-professional sports teams from gymnasts to football players. She is active in research and has published a number of evidence based rehabilitation protocols.
Ms Jane Leah http://www.bordersphysio.com
Since qualifying from Salford University in 1994, Jane has gained wide experience in the management of sports injuries. She is currently the academy physiotherapist to a professional football club, and has special experience in both adult and children’s sports problems.
Sr Gaynor Kanes
Following a long career as a theatre nurse, Gaynor has expanded her practice into sports injuries, and now works as a surgical assistant and nurse practitioner with the team, providing patient support throughout the surgical cycle.
